Have you ever doubted yourself or felt overwhelmed when you are about to do something new that pushes you out of your comfort zone? Have you ever self-sabotaged your progress or procrastinated taking action towards your goals?
Feeling stuck, hitting the same obstacles in your business over and over again, or noticing repeating thought patterns are signs that your conscious and subconscious minds are not in alignment.
You have consciously decided to pursue a goal, but your subconscious mind, and beliefs you may not even be aware of, are holding you back and keeping you from reaching your full potential.
What most people don’t realise is the power they have to change their subconscious mind. You can harness the power of it to build routines to create huge success, happiness and fulfilment.
You can train your subconscious mind to notice opportunities around you and harness it to work for you as you pursue your goals whether those are personal or business-related.
In this blog post, I am going to share four tips for training your subconscious mind to support you and your business success.
Your core beliefs are stored in your subconscious mind. These beliefs act like a lens through which every situation and life experience is seen. Your subconscious mind is constantly filtering information that affirms your current beliefs and it presents you with repeated thoughts that mirror past experiences.
So, your reality is shaped by your beliefs. Your beliefs drive your actions and determine your results. However, your beliefs aren’t facts. They may be in conflict with what you actually desire and want to create in your reality.
If you feel unfulfilled, or identify a repeating pattern that is limiting you, you may have a negative core belief, such as ‘I am not good enough’ impacting your decisions.
Your brain is built to keep you safe. It is designed to seek familiarity and it doesn’t like the unknown. Your subconscious mind strives to keep you repeating patterns that feel familiar and in your comfort zone. It tries to protect you from events it deems threatening.
When you decide to do something new that pushes you out of your comfort zone, you can start to experience uncomfortable emotions, such as fear, self-doubt, overwhelm, or anxiety, because your brain wants to protect you from potential threats.
Once you understand the true power you have over the way you think, feel and act, you become the ultimate creator of your life. What once didn’t seem achievable gets to be your reality.
When the mind can’t comprehend something but you choose to continually feed it with information that confirms your desires as if they are your reality, you can then bring those desires into your life.
Here are four ways you can utilise the power of your subconscious mind to create the success you desire in your business.
You may not be aware of your core beliefs or have ever stopped to question them. Because your subconscious mind will filter out anything that contradicts what you believe, start training your subconscious mind by identifying your beliefs.
Observe your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Become aware of your fears, doubts, and insecurities and bring them into your conscious awareness. This is data that you can use to identify your core beliefs. This will enable you to see your beliefs and know that they are not part of who you are.
Once you have awareness of your beliefs, you’re then able to do something with them. You can consciously choose not to think about them and not let them dictate your actions.
Awareness is key here as when you are not aware of your beliefs, you can take action from a place of fear and this will affect the decisions you make and, in turn, your success.
When you identify a core belief, you’ll be empowered to do something different and make decisions based on what you want to call in. You can start to make decisions based on how you want to change your behaviour.
You can also challenge your beliefs. Once you are aware of a certain belief, start to catch it in the moment. Remind yourself that it is not true. Replace this negative thought, fear, or insecurity with a positive in your mind. Doing this consistently will help you to cultivate a positive mindset.
Also, be aware of other people’s fears and doubts as they can be projected onto you. Without awareness of this, they can affect what you think you are or aren’t capable of.
If you feel resistance, you could have a conflicting belief about what you desire. This can result in your subconscious mind holding you back and questioning whether you are taking the right action or not.
Start to question where the resistance is coming from. Get to know the belief that is in conflict with what you want to create and then question that belief.
Poke holes in it and start to see that it is not a fact – it is purely a thought that has been created by past experiences and if it is no longer serving you, change it by finding evidence to the contrary.
This allows you to stop and observe your current situation from a different perspective. You have the choice to continue to subscribe to this belief or decide to let go of the belief that is limiting you.

Allow yourself to be happy and successful by bringing your beliefs about success into your conscious awareness. As a mindset coach, I have had many conversations with people who fear success.
If there is a subconscious association of success being synonymous with people who are greedy, self-centred or superior, of course, this is going to create a conflict. Instead, get clear on what success means to you – your own version of success.

Listen to podcasts, consume content from people who inspire you, and read books that relate to what you are trying to achieve. Listen to affirmations daily. This will create a cumulative effect that will create new beliefs in your subconscious mind over time and you will find yourself taking new actions from these new beliefs.
When you consume inspiring content and surround yourself with people who have positive mindsets, you are training your subconscious mind daily. Having a daily mindset practice will help you to cultivate a positive mindset and tap into your highest self, the version of yourself beneath all your fears and insecurities. Affirmations are positive and uplifting statements that help you overcome fears and negative thought patterns. Repeated use of affirmations can help you create new neural pathways in your brain. This, in turn, will help you become the best version of yourself and achieve your goals.
Affirmations can help you take consistent action towards the things you desire to achieve. The more you repeat a certain affirmation and the more you take action towards your goals, the more you are going to feel the affirmation become part of your identity.
Using affirmations is one daily mindset practice I recommend to all my clients so try to repeat affirmations as much as possible. Create a daily routine for repeating your affirmations. This can be in the morning after waking up, at lunchtime, or in the evening before bed.
